Sandy beach, with clear water that you can see your feet from a shoulder level deep, the temperature was great, specially in the afternoon.Easy parking and access. Washrooms close by, including some spots to wash the sand off your feet and showers as well. There are some options to get food on walking distance, not very good though.The sunset is amazing, as it happens on the water.
Great beach! Clean beach and grounds, and change/washroom building. Has volleyball nets, a snack shack, SUP lessons, and a playground. No dogs allowed on the main beach, but we brought ours and sat closer to the road, and no one bothered us. Can get very busy, but you can always find a spot.
Amazing beach for families. I have been coming here with my family since I was 4. I am an adult now and plan on taking my family here. Great camping nearby and atmosphere. There is a beautiful pier that you can watch the sunset from and eat ice cream. Remember to bring cash if you plan on eating at the pier restaurant.
I will admit that I am biased - I have been vacationing at Port Elgin since I was a kid. Pros: flat beach, clean, clear water on great weather days, awesome fry/ice cream shack, no biting insects, fairly clean sand bottom, pavilions, big splash pads. Cons: cloudy water with natural debris (sticks and seaweed) on high wave days, no dunes (for dune lovers), not great for surfing. Loved returning this year!
Wow! This is an amazing spot. When we visited the water was clear and Lake Huron cold! This is a sandy beach with a long wade out to deep water. It was perfect for swimming with the kids. We had a blast!
